Birch Aquarium Kelp Forest

Birch Aquarium's kelp forest tank is an impressive two stories high. Ten inches of acrylic hold back 70,000 gallons of natural seawater. The kelp tank features local marine life off the coast of La Jolla-including  three species of sharks, moray eels, barracuda, giant sea bass, and other animals that live in "amber forests" offshore.

Kelp Tank Feeding Shows

Watch divers feed the fishes and clean the tank during half-hour presentations about kelp forests. Visitors can ask the diver questions via underwater communications.
