San Diego Gas & Electric and the City of San Diego Invite You to a Lighting Exchange Event!
Location: Birch Aquarium at Scripps, 2300 Expedition Way, La Jolla
Dates: Saturday August 15, 2009
Time: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
SDG&E customers! Trade in your old incandescent
light bulbs for new, energy-efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs
(CFLs) and receive 2-for-1 “same day” admission to Birch
Aquarium. In addition,
if you bring in expired CFLs, we will properly dispose of them for
you. In California, CFLs cannot be disposed of in the regular
solid waste
trash or the blue solid waste recycling bins – due to the trace amount
of mercury contained in the bulbs.
New this year! Receive a
free energy efficient low-flow showerhead, two faucet aerators for your
bathroom and one faucet aerator for your kitchen from SDG&E. By
saving energy and water, you will be helping to protect the environment
by conserving precious natural resources for our region.
-
Exchange up to five incandescent light bulbs for CFLs (while supplies last)
-
CFLs produce about 75% less heat so they're cooler and safer to
operate; and they use about 75% less energy than incandescent bulbs and
last up to 10 times longer
-
Bring a valid California ID and your SDG&E bill (NOTE: You must be an SDG&E customer to participate in the light bulb exchange)
-
No floor or table lamps or 3-way bulbs are available for exchange at the Birch Aquarium event
If you’re thinking about making energy-efficiency improvements to

be available per participating family, and is valid for up to two
people. These programs may be modified or terminated without prior
notice. SDG&E makes no representation as to the safety, reliability
and/or efficiency of the lighting equipment or components.
