  • Q: How can I become a member?

  • 1. In person - Stop by the Membership Office. Need Directions?
  • 2. By phone - Call us at 858-534-5771. The Membership Office is open 7 days a week, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Purchases by phone will be accepted with a major credit card.
  • 3. Online.
  • 4. By mail - Print the membership application and mail with payment to:

Q: When will I receive my membership packet?

Within 2-3 weeks. Call us at 858-534-5771 if you haven't received your membership packet after this time period.

Q: Can I visit before I receive my card?

Of course! Stop by the Membership Office to verify your purchase.

Q: Can I lend my membership card to a friend or family member?

No. Memberships are non-transferable and are valid only for the person whose name appears on the card.

Q: Who is included on a family membership?

The two adults listed on the membership cards and any children or grandchildren age 17 and under. The number of children or grandchildren is listed on the membership card.

Q: Do members receive free parking?

3-hour courtesy parking is available at Birch Aquarium at Scripps.

Q: What are your hours?

Birch Aquarium is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. We are closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Days. The Gift Shop is open from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.
