Community Donations

Thank you for considering Birch Aquarium at Scripps for your event.

::Please Note:: As Birch Aquarium at Scripps enters our busiest season, the community donation program will be temporarily put on hold. We apologize for the inconvenience. 

Each year the aquarium donates thousands of tickets to fellow nonprofit organizations for fundraising events benefiting our community. Please review the guidelines below to determine if your organization is eligible, and note the instructions on how to request donations.

Donation Guidelines:

•  Your organization must be a non-profit using the tickets as a fundraising item. We are unable to donate to for-profit organizations or individuals raising money for another group.

•  The number of available tickets is limited. Requests are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given first to San Diego County organizations. Please submit your requests as early as possible. We recommend at least two months in advance, earlier for events near the holidays or end of school year.

•  Four general admission tickets are provided to qualifying organizations (value $48).

•  Tickets are valid for one year from the month that your event takes place.

•  Requests for donations are limited to one request per year, per organization.

•  The value of ticketed donations is subject to change at the discretion of Birch Aquarium at Scripps.

•  We request that organizations acknowledge Birch Aquarium at Scripps in marketing materials and/or programs for the event. Please contact us at aquariuminfo@ucsd.edu if you need logos or images.

To Submit a Request:

Send your request to Marketing Coordinator Addie Eure at aeure@ucsd.edu. We prefer not to receive faxes or snail mail to reduce paper usage.   Please include the following information:

• Name of Organization

• Name of Event

• Description of Event

• Date of Event

• How Tickets will be distributed: (e.g. raffle, silent auction, etc.)

• Non-Profit ID#:

• Contact person (name, phone & e-mail):

• Address the tickets should be sent to:

We will mail tickets to eligible organizations. Organizations that do not receive tickets will receive an email notice.
