Meet sharks, skates, and rays of Southern California in this dynamic week of hands-on investigations into the fascinating world of sharks. Visitors will have opportunities to touch young sharks with assistance from curators and meet Scripps researchers who study sharks and their relatives.  More 

Snorkel With Sharks

Saturdays: July 19, 26, August 23: 8-10 a.m.
Sundays: June 29, July 6, August 10, Agust 31: 8-10 a.m.
Dare to swim with schooling leopard sharks, smoothound sharks, and guitarfish while enjoying the mild surf and gently sloping beach of La Jolla Shores and the adjacent rocky reef. More

Full Moon Pier Walks

Tuesday, July 15: 7-9:30 p.m.
Friday, August 15: 7-9:30 p.m.
Saturday, August 16: 7-9:30 p.m.
Walk along the length of the Ellen Browning Scripps Memorial Pier with a Scripps naturalist under a full moon. Although this La Jolla landmark is usually closed to the public, participants will learn the history of the pier  and conduct research experiments. More
